Refund Policy
Grounded Learning CE, LLCLast Updated: April 29, 2026 | Effective Date: April 28, 2026 | Exam Prep Tiered Refund Effective Date: April 2, 2026
Overview
Grounded Learning CE, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) wants you to be satisfied with your purchase. Our refund policy is intentionally simple, fair, and transparent. When You Can Get a Refund
Before course completion: refund of purchase price minus a 3% administrative fee. If you have not completed a course, you are entitled to a refund equal to your purchase price minus a 3% administrative fee. The 3% fee covers non-refundable payment-processing costs (credit card and PayPal transaction fees) that we incur on every purchase and cannot recover when a refund is issued.
After course completion: no refund. Once a course has been completed and the certificate of completion has been generated, no refund is available. This applies regardless of whether the certificate has been submitted to a state licensing board.
The standard “before/after completion” policy above applies to:
• Individual CE course modulesAfter course completion: no refund. Once a course has been completed and the certificate of completion has been generated, no refund is available. This applies regardless of whether the certificate has been submitted to a state licensing board.
• Specialty courses Exam preparation products (Journeyman Exam Prep, Master Exam Prep, and the Complete Exam Combo) are governed by a separate tiered refund policy — see the next section. This is because exam prep is a study product without a single completion milestone. Course completion is determined by our course tracking system, which marks a course complete when the final assessment has been passed and the certificate has been generated. We do not offer subscriptions or recurring billing of any kind. All purchases are one-time.
Texas (TDLR) Carve-Out — CE and Specialty Courses
For Texas students, our refund policy is adjusted to comply with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) requirements: • Course not started. If you have not started a CE or specialty course, you are entitled to a full refund of the purchase price with no 3% administrative fee deducted, consistent with TDLR’s full-refund-when-not-started requirement.• Course started but not completed. The standard 3% administrative fee applies, consistent with TDLR’s permitted transaction fee.
• Processing time. Texas refunds are processed within the TDLR-required 30 calendar-day window (target processing time is 5–10 business days). This carve-out applies to all Texas-licensed students enrolled in our courses, regardless of whether the course is approved in Texas or another state. For exam prep products, see the Texas (TDLR) Carve-Out paragraph in the next section.
Exam Prep Refund Tiers (Journeyman, Master, Combo)
For exam preparation products, refunds are calculated using a tiered system tied to how many practice exams you have attempted, with a hard 30-day refund window from your purchase date.
Refund Tier Table
| Exams Attempted | Refund Before 3% Fee | Tier |
|---|---|---|
| 0 (none started) | 100% of purchase price | Tier 1 |
| 1–50% of bundle (1–15 of 30, or 1–30 of 60) | 50% of purchase price | Tier 2 |
| 51% or more (16+ of 30, or 31+ of 60) | No refund | Tier 3 |
Definitions
• “Attempted” means a practice exam has been opened and the timer has started, regardless of how many questions you ultimately answered.• The Complete Exam Combo (60 exams) is treated as a single bundle for tier purposes — attempts are counted across all 60 exams toward one tier.
• An exam attempted counts as +1 toward the count, even if you did not finish it.
30-Day Refund Window
All exam prep refund requests must be submitted within thirty (30) calendar days of the purchase date. Refund requests submitted more than 30 calendar days after purchase are not eligible, regardless of how few exams have been attempted. This 30-day window is in addition to the tier system — both must be satisfied for a refund to be approved. How the 3% Administrative Fee Stacks
The standard 3% administrative fee is applied after the tier percentage is calculated. The 3% is taken from the refunded amount, not the original purchase price. Worked example. You purchase Journeyman Exam Prep for $100, attempt 12 of the 30 practice exams, and request a refund within 30 days. That places you in Tier 2 (1–50% used). Your refund calculation: $100 × 50% = $50; minus 3% admin fee on the $50 = $1.50; final refund issued = $48.50.Texas (TDLR) Carve-Out
For Texas students, our tier system maps to TDLR’s required refund framework as follows: Tier 1 (no exams attempted) results in a full refund with no 3% admin fee deducted, consistent with TDLR’s requirement of a full refund for unstarted courses. Tier 2 (1–50% attempted) and Tier 3 (51%+) follow the standard tier table. Texas refunds are processed within the TDLR-required 30 calendar-day window. How We Verify Your Usage
Usage of exam prep products is recorded through your Grounded Learning CE student account. Before processing any tier-based refund, our support team will verify the exams-attempted count with you and provide a clear refund calculation in writing. If our records and your records differ, we will work with you to resolve the discrepancy in good faith before issuing the refund. The Exam Prep Refund Tier policy is effective for exam preparation purchases made on or after April 2, 2026.
How to Request a Refund
Refund requests must be submitted by email. We do not accept refund requests by phone, social media, postal mail, or any other channel.
Send your refund request to: support@groundedlearningce.com
Please include the following information so we can process your request quickly:
• Your full name• The email address used at the time of purchase
• The course or product name(s)
• The order number or transaction ID, if available
• A brief reason for the refund request (optional, but helpful for our continuous improvement)
Refund Processing
We will respond to your refund request within 2 business days. Approved refunds are processed within 5–10 business days and are credited to the original payment method (credit card via Stripe, or PayPal). The exact timing of the credit appearing on your statement depends on your bank or payment provider. The 3% Administrative Fee — What It Covers and When It Does Not Apply
When you purchase a course, we are charged a non-refundable transaction fee by our payment processors (credit card via Stripe, or PayPal). That fee is not returned to us when we issue a refund, so a 3% administrative fee is deducted from refunds to offset that cost. The 3% administrative fee does not apply in the following situations: • Technical issues on our end that prevent you from accessing or completing a course you have already purchased (see below).• Refunds we are required to issue under state law (see “State-Specific Refund Rights” below).
• Refunds we issue at our sole discretion as a goodwill gesture. For all other refunds — including standard customer-requested cancellations before course completion and duplicate-purchase refunds — the 3% administrative fee will be deducted from the amount returned.
Technical Issues
If a technical issue on our end prevents you from accessing or completing a course you have already purchased, please contact us first. We will work with you to resolve the issue and, if we cannot, will issue a full refund with no administrative fee deducted, regardless of how much of the course you have completed.
Duplicate Purchases
If you accidentally purchase the same course twice, email us and we will refund the duplicate purchase regardless of completion status of either enrollment. The 3% administrative fee will be deducted from the duplicate-purchase refund, because we still incur the non-refundable payment-processing fee on each charge.State-Specific Refund Rights
Important: Some states have specific consumer protection laws or continuing education regulations that may provide additional refund rights beyond this policy. Where state law provides greater refund protections than this policy, the state law will prevail. Please consult your state’s licensing board or consumer protection office for details about your rights.
Chargebacks and Disputes
We encourage you to contact us directly before filing a chargeback with your payment provider. Filing a chargeback for a course that has been completed may result in suspension of your account and reporting to the applicable state licensing board if CE credits were obtained. We reserve the right to contest any chargeback we believe to be unjustified.Changes to This Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Refund Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. The refund terms in effect at the time of your purchase will apply to that purchase.Contact
